Mechanic Hose Company No. 6 was one of the original seven fire stations taken over by the City of Houston in 1895. Originally equipped with a four-wheeled hose reel drawn by two horses, it is now the home for separate Engine and Tower Companies, as well as, a District Chief and Paramedic Squad.
