Not always a church. Well... not in this case anyway.
The Eleanor K. Freed Library in the Neartown area was donated to the City of Houston for use as a library in 1986. Built in 1946 and formally know as the Central Church of Christ, there are still parts of the church remaining, including the stained glass window seen here.
